What Article 12 requires
Pictogram-based material-composition and disposal labelling becomes mandatory from 12 August 2028, or 24 months after the Article 12(6) implementing acts enter into force, whichever is later. Those acts were due from the Commission on 12 August 2026 and have not been adopted, so the harmonised label does not exist and national schemes (Triman/Info-tri, CONAI…) continue to apply. No annex carries the pictograms. The Digital Product Passport — an ESPR (EU) 2024/1781 instrument, not a PPWR one — is only cross-referenced here: IF another EU act already mandates one for the packaged product, the same data carrier must convey both sets of information. No packaging DPP is in force, proposed or programmed.
When Article 12 applies
One line per dated paragraph. Applies — the date has passed. Firm — written in the regulation, nothing in the pipeline can push it back. Conditional — a floor: the obligation starts on that date, or a set number of months after the act it waits on enters into force, whichever is later.
